Products of recycled PET

The closed PET cycle makes it possible for new bottles to arise from empty PET drinks bottles.

At temperatures of 250° C the PET molecule chains are so flexible, that a viscous plastic mass, which can be formed into any shape, arises. After cooling, the molecule chains refreeze and the plastic congeals in the desired shape. This simple and re-repeatable procedure is also used when producing PET drinks bottles.

Production of preforms

When producing PET bottles, preforms are initially manufactured with an injection moulding machine. These are transported to the drink bottler and then blown to the desired bottle size. As the small preforms only need a small amount of space, the number of transports can be significantly reduced.

In comparison to other plastics PET offers a significant advantage: apart from new bottles the following can also be made from PET: recyclate sheets, packaging and straps, also textiles such as fake fur, stuffing for cushions, rucksacks, trainers etc. There is no downcycling.
