Over 42,000 collection containers.

Over 76% of all sold PET drinks bottles end up in one of the more than 42,000 collection containers distributed throughout the whole of Switzerland. To relieve the collection tour which is organised by PET-Recycling Switzerland, the large retail chains take PET drinks bottles to the distribution centres using their own transport network. All collected PET drinks bottles will be taken to one of the five PET logistics centres by the transport companies.

Voluntary collectors: The recycling quota is only reached thanks to voluntary collectors from the work and leisure sectors. Today there are more than 15,000 voluntary collection points in operation, and the network is permanently being built up. Together with the legally obliged collectors, an in- house service is becoming public and is continually optimised and extended by PET-Recycling Switzerland.

PET-Recycling Switzerland operates a thick, country wide logistics network, in order to gather all empty bottles efficiently and transport them to the sorting centres.
